Kennedy and others
Dear Senator,
The Bush administration appears to pushing for war with Iraq as a
solution to all its foreign and domestic problems.
Now is the time for the Senate to take back its proper
constitutional power.
The Senate Foreign Relations Committee is planning to
hear evidence regarding the Iraqi threat to America.
The committee needs to hear from more that just the
administration hawks.
Please invite Scott Ritter as a witness at the Senate
Foreign Relations Committee. As a former weapons inspector he is in a
uniquely qualified position to know whether or not Iraq poses a threat
to the United States.
I have not seen any proof that Iraq still has weapons of mass
destruction. I have not seen any proof that Iraq is able to build
weapons of mass destruction. We should not go to war because of fear. We
should not go to war because of guesswork. Too many American lives and
Iraqi civilian lives will be lost for this decision to be made lightly.
Please do all you can to get the information, and not just propaganda.
Urge the UN to restart the weapons inspections.
But that is only possible if the U.S. lays aside plans to
violently overthrow the current Iraqi government.
Now is the time to really exercise leadership and
establish a way to peace for the entire world.
Sincerely,
David
